Our valued client in Burton are looking to recruit for a Deputy Manager to work at one of their homes in Burton On Trent. You will be working at a 3 bed Emotional Behavioural Disorder (EBD) home and supporting the manager to run the home.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children in a residential setting. They will be able to co-operate with other healthcare professionals and build and maintain positive relationships at all levels.
As the new Deputy Manager, you will:
Assist the manager to manage the Home to the highest professional standards
Ensure that care provided to residents is in line with National Standards
Participate in personal development activities to ensure up to date knowledge and skills in the management of care residents and any specialities offered by the Home.
Always conduct yourself in a manner matching the ideals, goals and expectations of a caring establishment.
Requirements for this position:
Must have at least one year’s experience of working with children
Must also have at least one year’s experience of working at senior level in a residential setting.
As the Deputy Manager, you must have two qualifications:
A qualification, at least to QCF Level 5, or equivalent, (Or be on and working towards) in the area of care they are responsible for; and
A management qualification at least or equivalent to NVQ Level 4.
Able to demonstrate periodic training to update own knowledge, skills and competence
Have a high standard of general intelligence
Have a strong knowledge of legislation relating to Health and Safety, Employment, and Food Hygiene.
Have a good insight into care of children and young persons.
Be literate with good communication skills and be numerate.
Be able to plan, co-ordinate and work under pressure while remaining professional.
Able to build relationships at all levels.
Desirables:
Knowledge of legislation relating specifically to Care Homes (regulations and standards), including registration and inspection procedures.
Specialist knowledge of care of children
Able to attend the Home at any time, if required.
About this role:
£28,000 - £30,000 per Annum
Working hours are Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm.
Valid UK Driver’s License
