Are you a dynamic and experienced Manager with a passion for maintaining high levels of hygiene and cleanliness in a fast-paced environment? 
Our client, based in Derby is looking for a Hygiene Manager to manage and continuously improve the hygiene standards across the full site for all shifts, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and cleaning are maintained at all times. 
Your responsibilities as the new Hygiene Manager: 
Manage, monitor and improve hygiene standards across the site through process checks and 
internal audit. 
Ensuring that adequate daily and deep cleaning regimes are documented, planned, and carried out to agreed standards and within budgets set. 
Lead the hygiene team to ensure that all hygiene processes are conducted in a professional manner. 
Assist with setting up robust cleaning procedures, ensuring that they are properly scheduled and correct hygiene/cleaning standards are set and maintained 
Liaise regularly with the General Manager and Production Managers to work collaboratively to achieve a great outcome. 
Carry out regularly audits with Production Managers or appointed deputy in each area to ensure standards and improvements are made. 
Review cleaning instructions and challenge; to improve hygiene standards, consumable use and labour efficiency. 
Review previous days actions and comments from other departments and action any discrepancies. 
Ensure all factory paperwork has been issued and ready to use. 
Ensure all necessary equipment is available for use (lances, hose’s, chemicals, and PPE) and signed out to the hygiene operator. 
Ensure daily measurements of consumables are taken. 
Liaise with production areas and support functions to pro-actively manage any upcoming time allocation issues. 
Site Inspections and System Audits against the BRC Standard (including 3rd party audits) 
Emergency response to incidents and issues 
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience 
Background in Food Manufacture/Food Science/Technology/Microbiology and have strong formal food hygiene qualifications. 
Previous experience of operating as a Hygiene Manager within food manufacturing, ideally within a chilled food environment 
Excellent communication and organizational skills are required. 
Ability to use own initiative, be flexible and self-motivated. 
Used to working within tight timescales. 
Computer literate, especially all Microsoft packages.
