Our client who are a passionate family -owned organisation has an exciting opportunity for a new Rail Trainer / Assessor to join their Engineering Academy. 
As the new Trainer and Assessor, you will report to the Engineering Academy Leader, the role involves Teaching, Mentoring, Coaching, and Assessing your learners to help meet the requirements of all your stakeholders. 
Your responsibilities as the new Rail Trainer and Assessor: 
Support your learners, employers, and internal customers. 
Use and promote the use of our quality and business systems. 
Support change & continuous improvement. 
Safety & Safeguarding 
Quality, Compliance & Standardisation 
Delivery of Teaching, Coaching and Assessment 
Make yourself available for team meetings and complete and agreed actions in a timely manner. 
Co-operate with your Line Manager to plan your caseloads to ensure that sign ups, teaching, coaching and assessment activities are carried out in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with quality & compliance requirements. 
Address instances of poor performance by initially co-operating and working with your Line Manager to find the root cause of any issues and agreeing an action plan to resolve the situation. Implement any agreed actions in the timescales specified. 
Ensure you keep your CPD up to date using the standard documentation. 
Qualifications and Experiences for the role of Rail Trainer / Assessor: 
A vocational qualification at the level you are teaching and assessing - A level 3 qualification in rail engineering or traction and rolling stock. 
An assessor qualification (D32 / 33, A1, TAQA) desirable, but essential for the delivery of internally assessed awarding body qualifications. 
A Level 3 teaching qualification (or prepared to work towards). In the event of a Trainer not having a teaching qualification, the company could accept documentation that clearly demonstrates the Trainer is teaching or can teach at, or above the level of the programme they are delivering. 
Level 2 qualifications in English, Maths and ICT 
Essential Qualifications and experience 
4 years rail experience 
Be prepared to work 3 days a week on and off-site delivery and assessing. 
Desirable Qualifications and experience 
Lifting experience 
Engineering experience 
About the role: 
Ideally looking for either an associate to work 3 days a week or potentially part time employed trainer. 
Monday – Friday (Permanent) 
Starting salary £38,000 Pro rata.
