Recruit 2 You are currently working with our client based in Swadlincote in search for a Trade Counter Assistant! Our client are tool specialists, supplying in both the commercial and private sector. They are looking for a Trade Counter Assistant to join their Customer Service team, situated on the Trade Counter. 
The position of Trade Counter Assistant is an exciting opportunity for a self-driven and highly motivated individual, with duties including all things Customer Service and Sales related! The new Trade Counter Assistant will be responsible for the effective growth of customer relations, customer sales and servicing customers for any and all needs. 
 
Key Responsibilities: 
 
• The process of orders using a top tier trade counter system 
• To engage with customers 
• Providing the best tools and services for all customer needs 
• Work with the existing Trade Counter team to ensure Point of Sale is correct and displays are immaculate 
• Source and manage ‘Special Order’ sales for stock that is typically outside of our product catalogue 
• Answer telephone queries 
• Assist with stock management and goods-in 
 
Essential Attributes: 
 
• Excellent customer service skills 
• Excellent cash handling experience 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skillset 
• Excellent numeracy skillset to quickly calculate sales prices, discounts, and percentages 
• Previous experience working in a Trade Counter role 
• Previous experience working in a Sales role 
 
Desirable Attributes: 
 
• 3+ years of experience working within the hand and power tool industry 
• 3+ years of experience working in a Trade Counter role 
• Previous use or knowledge of Orderwise management system 
• A background in buying products from suppliers 
• A background in customer relations 
• Interest in hand and power tools, hardware, fixings, and plumbing 
 
Hours and Salary: 
 
• This is a full-time and permanent position 
• Alternating weekly shift pattern between: 
o Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm 
o Monday – Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm 
• Alternate weekly Saturday shift: 
o 7:30am to 5:00pm 
• Competitive salary based on experience and applicable skillset 
• Base annual salary between £28,600 - £30,00 per year depending on previous experience
