On behalf of our valued client, we are looking for a Transport Coordinator for their site, based in Enfield. The Transport Coordinator will be reporting into the Transport Controller. 
The main purpose of this role is to provide key support to the Transport Controller by helping to support the transport activity on site. 
As the new Transport Coordinator, you will: 
Brief all drivers before they depart. Ensure the correct driver has the necessary invoice and collection notes and that any that are for return, go to Derby. 
Check drivers are fully equipped to follow the planned schedule throughout the day. Communicate any feedback from drivers to the Transport Controller. 
Make sure all routes are being covered correctly and ensure any absences are covered. Communicate any late departures to the Derby Transport Controller and Enfield Transport Controller. 
Monitor the clock in report to make sure all staff are clocking in and out every day. 
Conduct monthly audits of all Enfield based vehicles and complete regular paperwork as required by existing or future amended procedures as directed Transport Controller. 
Control, monitor and report any missing trays at the Enfield site. Account for any trays that may be left at customers and keep a record of all trays sent to the Derby site. 
Highlight any delivery training needs that needs to be completed within the Transport operation. Make sure all staff complete required IHASCO training. 
Manage investigations of all accidents and near missed (both vehicles and employees), Complete company accident forms in preparation for submission to Company Insurers as directed by the Transport Controller. Highlight any resource issues (both vehicles and drivers) as they arise and ensure the Transport Controller and Derby Transport Controller are informed. 
Hours of work may vary to take on the responsibilities of the Transport Controller when required, e.g Holidays. 
Be or become familiar with the following packages: AX, Optimo, Samsara, Lightfoot, MS Office, The People Hub, and the FFM Report Manager application. Training will be provided where necessary. 
You may also be responsible for: 
Monitor fuel use to help maintain the integrity of records and accounting for all fuel drawn. 
Manage the movement of vehicles between service centres as per maintenance schedule. 
Update Sales on any issues occurring as they happen at customer sites. 
Ensure all collections are made and product returned to Derby. 
Managing vehicle parking on site to maximise space and ensure adherence to restrictions. 
Manage late orders and any late collection as required. 
Requirements for the role: 
Ideally, a minimum of 2 years’ experience within a busy transport operation (preferably multi temperature food transport). 
High quality organisational skills are considered important to work in a busy, fast-moving environment. 
The ability to work unsupervised using own initiative is essential. 
Effective communication skills, both written and oral. 
A flexible approach to both duties and hours of work is required. 
Must have a good solid geographic knowledge of the UK, especially London and the Southeast. 
About the role: 
Hours for this role are Tuesday to Saturday, 4am – 1pm. 
Salary for the role is up to £35,000 (Depending on Experience)
