Recruit 2 You are delighted to work in partnership with our client, based in Somercotes, Alfreton. Our client is an employee-owned cash and carry site. Due to demand, they are expanding their team and currently hiring for Order Pickers for a variety of shifts including full time 8 hours and 4 hour shift patterns. They are a large distribution centre that deliver nationwide, and deliver a wide range of wholesale products, supplying to independent retailers and caterers etc.
The role will include picking orders ready to be delivered the following day. You will be working as part of a key supportive team within the depot, where you will take ownership to ensure the process of picking a customer’s order with good attention to detail and can work well in a busy environment. This role is a very targeted role, where you are expected to pick so many items - so adhering to deadlines is a key requirement for this job.
Our client are expanding and opening their 8th depot this year!
PLEASE NOTE, these hours are working across the weekend.
The shifts available on NIGHTS are;
Sunday to Thursday 9pm-5am with training 8am-4:30pm Monday to Friday
The job Role involves;
• Includes manual labour and walking the warehouse. • Picking and preparing customer’s orders ready for dispatch in an organised and timely fashion.
• Picking customers’ orders using handheld equipment.
• Picking customers’ orders directly into roll cages.
• Stock replenishment following correct procedures.
• Taking responsibility for the zone that you work in; this includes ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained.
• Supporting other departments as required.
What do you need to be a Picker?
• Initiative and the capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good time management as you will be working at speed.
• Good attention to detail and careful precision to meet targets.
• Able to work quickly and to deadlines.
• Confidence using handheld computerised tills and barcode scanners.
All candidates will conduct weekly and monthly review meetings under their probation period. This vacancy is offered on a temporary to permanent contract over 10 weeks!

The pay rate for this role is £12.46 per hour.
