Our client, based in derby are global specialists in turbomachinery instrumentation. As part of the company ambitious plans for growth and expansion, we are excited to be supporting with the recruitment for a Project Engineer on a full time, permanent basis. Your main responsibilities as the new Project Engineer will include:
Supporting the Programme Manager with the management of various projects from the point of order placement to delivery.
Establishing and maintaining project reports, including schedule, cost, and profitability for all projects for reporting to senior management.
When required, assist in bidding / quoting of potential projects.
Identifying project risks and developing mitigation plans.
Developing and maintaining the exact bill of materials (BoM) for each project and managing the flow of engineering drawings and instructions for manufacturing and assembly.
Developing the manufacturing flow for each project as required (routers and work instructions).
Requisitioning / purchasing parts and equipment as needed.
Organising kitting for assembly and test of products.
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering colleagues and with customers and suppliers.
Accurately recording lessons learned and performing project close out per company processes.
On occasion travel may be required at customer sites, both domestic and international.
You as the new Project Engineer will demonstrate the following:
A completed Degree or HNC/HND qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience and a good understanding of complex and precision electro-mechanical parts would be beneficial but not necessary.
Experience of Slip Rings or DC Motors would be beneficial, but not necessary.
Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineering principles
Experience using ERP systems would be beneficial, however, training on the company system will be provided.
Experience of manufacturing techniques such as welding, brazing, soldering, machining – turning and milling, EDM, 3D Printing, metal coating and heat treatment processes.
Understanding of layouts and engineering drawings.
Previous project management experience using tools such as MS Project or similar.
Excellent maths and science aptitude.
Flexible and able to adapt to change and must be highly organised, able to prioritise and be self-motivated.
Good communication and reporting skills using MS tools – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
