As part of ambitious growth and expansion plans, Our Derby based client, currently have a vacancy for an experienced Test Engineer. Our client’s business are global specialists in turbomachinery instrumentation. Recruit 2 You are excited to be supporting with the recruitment for a Test Engineer on a full time, permanent basis. Your main responsibilities as the new Test Engineer will include: 
Managing the mechanical and electrical testing of slip rings and rotary unions (product training and test equipment training will be provided). 
Responsible for the maintenance and calibration of test equipment. 
Test data analysis and test report compilation. 
Mechanical dimensional inspection. 
Testing of wire harnesses. 
Establishing and maintaining necessary project reports and records, and compiling work instructions and other relevant technical documentation. 
Customer reporting, as necessary. 
Identifying test and inspection risks and developing mitigation plans. 
Proposing and executing continuous improvement opportunities. 
Requisitioning / purchasing parts and equipment as needed. 
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering colleagues as well as customers and suppliers. 
On occasion travel may be required at customer sites, both domestic and international. 
Willing to work flexible hours when required 
You as the new Test Engineer will demonstrate the following: 
A completed Degree or HNC/HND qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. 
At least 5-10 years of relevant professional experience. 
Knowledge and experience of electrical and mechanical testing of highly engineered electro-mechanical assemblies and apparatus. 
Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineering principles. 
Familiar with the use of a range of general-purpose test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, PC-based data acquisition systems and hi-pot testing. 
Experience of Slip Rings or DC Motors would be beneficial, but not necessary. 
LabVIEW experience would be beneficial. 
RF and Fibre Optic knowledge desirable but not essential. 
Experience with measurement of physical and mechanical test parameters such as temperature, flow, pressure, torque, and dynamic balancing. 
Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical technical drawings, schematics, and acceptance test procedures. 
Experience of wire harness testing. 
Excellent maths and science aptitude. 
Excellent time management. 
Flexible and able to adapt to change. 
Must be highly organised, able to prioritise and be self-motivated. 
Must have good attention to detail and a proven ability to work swiftly and accurately to a schedule with a systematic approach. 
Good communication and reporting skills using MS tools – Word, Excel, PowerPoint. 
Must be a team player and have a desire to learn new skills and develop new processes
