Recruit 2 You are hiring for temporary ongoing Class 1 HGV Drivers on behalf of our busy client in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire.
What You’ll Do:
This is a Class 1 trunking role based out of Eastwood, with all shifts starting from the Eastwood depot.
You will be responsible for transporting goods too distribution centres, with no multi-drop deliveries involved.
Completing trunking runs between distribution centres to deliver packaged bakery goods
Ensure timely and safe delivery of goods
Ensure all paperwork and delivery documentation is completed accurately
Provide a quality service, that develops strong relationships
Communicate effectively with transport planners and depot staff
Ensure vehicle cleanliness is maintained
Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, quality, food safety and accident reporting procedures
What We Are Looking For:
Previous Class 1 HGV driving experience (minimum 2 years)
Valid and in date Driver CPC card
Experience operating double decker trailers is essential
Knowledge of manual handling / physically fit (you may be required to assist with offloading duties)
Basic vehicle maintenance mechanical knowledge (to be able to relay faults on defect forms)
Knowledge of Transport Legislation and Tachographics (e.g. driver Hours, working time directive and the Highway Code)
Reliability and able to work within a fast-paced environment
About this role:
Shifts: Shift start times are from early morning onwards, with shift lengths varying up to 12 hours based on operational needs. (Please note that shift duration is dependent on workload and route requirements, so flexibility is essential.) Please only apply if you are able to start from 3:30am onwards and can accommodate varying shift lengths.
🚛 Days: £15.63 - £17.51 per hour.
🌙 Nights: £15.92 - £17.84 per hour
⏰ Overtime: Up to £23.88 per hour
📅 Sundays: Up to £31.84 per hour
🎉 Bank Holidays: Up to £46.89 per hour
