Our very valued client is currently looking for a skilled and experienced safety and wellbeing coordinator to join their team. The successful individual will be reporting to the People Director and will help the business by offering health and safety advice on the daily actions of the company. You will need to consider the safety of all who may be on site or affected outside of the business.
As the new Safety and Wellbeing Coordinator, you will:
Help to introduce, monitor and review the Health & Safety risk assessment, procedures, strategies and safe working practices to be in line with the Global Safety Framework.
Help to improve Health & Safety performance and promote a positive Health & Safety culture in the business.
Respond to any safety concerns raised by any member of staff or those outside of the business.
Help to develop and manage the Global Safety Framework.
Help to identify and deliver training needs for employees.
Assist to carry out risk assessments where necessary.
Work to ensure Health & Safety information and communications are efficient throughout the company.
Proactively, carry out inspections in the workplace to identify where Health & Safety may be improved.
Support managers with any investigations and help with taking steps to prevent it being repeated.
Help with the preparation of Health & Safety reports and performance data when needed.
Keep up to date on current Health & Safety legislation and laws.
Maintain and develop strong working relationships with all departments at various levels.
Be actively involved in any company projects or initiatives that will improve Health & Safety.
Communicate with the factory floor to improve communications.
Attend meetings as needed.
Help to reduce accidents in line with business goals and KPI’s.
Oversee and raise profiles with hazard reports in line with business goals and KPI’s.
Oversee the development and improvement of Safety Rep programme including maintaining a presence at the safety committee meetings. Look to continuously improve Health & Safety awareness in the company through training programmes in line with business goals and KPI’s.
Work closely with Group Health & Safety to deliver the safety framework into all areas of the business.
Communicate with Safety & Wellbeing managers in other locations.
Requirements for the role:
Essential
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a related Health & Safety role.
Have a NEBOSH general certificate in Health & Safety or working towards.
Desirable
Previous experience working within a Global Multi sited Group Business.
Previous experience within FMCG in the food industry.
Experience with insurance and claims management
Interaction with Liaising with HSE / Authorities, Fire, etc.
