Our client, based in Derby, is looking for a Hygiene Supervisor to manage, develop, and lead a team of Hygiene Operatives on the assigned shift. You will play a crucial role in driving forward company initiatives to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and safety across the site. 
 
As a Hygiene Team Leader, your key responsibilities include: 
 
Proactively ensuring that all tasks assigned to the team align with site schedules to maintain KPIs and achieve set targets. 
Ensuring daily completion and auditing of all hygiene documentation. 
Demonstrating and promoting safety standards in line with Company H&S requirements. 
Organising the team's duties effectively through a robust rota system. 
Managing the team of Hygiene Operatives, including duty organisation, motivation, communication, and safety, in compliance with Company requirements. 
Conducting investigations and disciplinary actions with staff as necessary. 
Assisting the Hygiene Manager in managing staff performance. 
Supporting the Hygiene Manager in the recruitment process for new staff in line with internal recruitment policies. 
Assisting in staff development, including on-the-job training, probation reviews, and onboarding, as well as training and inducting temporary staff. 
Preparing reports for management on current standards and areas for improvement. 
Managing daily resource rotas and arranging cover as needed to ensure a full complement of staff for each shift. 
Assisting in the preparation of the site and documents for scheduled or unscheduled visits and audits. 
Actively contributing to the continuous improvement of the team's delivery of quality, service, safety, and hygiene. 
 
To be successful in this role, you should have: 
 
A relevant food hygiene qualification to at least level 2. 
Previous experience supervising a Hygiene department. 
Food industry experience (advantageous). 
Ability to plan and schedule cleaning tasks. 
Good verbal communication and numeracy skills. 
IT literacy. 
H&S experience. 
COSHH knowledge. 
Flexibility with shifts and hours due to scheduled and unscheduled visits/audits and production scheduling.
