Our client, a leading global supplier of sustainable solutions in various industries, is seeking an experienced Pressure Vessel Design Engineer to join their dynamic team in the U.K. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex projects, with a focus on gas-fired power plants, hydrogen and CO2 capture and storage, and process technologies in the food industry. 
 
Responsibilities: 
 
Conduct comprehensive pressure vessel design, with a primary focus on industry-standard software (preferably shell & tube exchangers). 
Apply fundamental principles in thermodynamics and mass/heat balance equations to enhance project outcomes. 
Ensure compliance with relevant TEMA, API, and ASME design codes and standards. 
Collaborate with mechanical design teams to deliver high-quality project solutions. 
Utilize software tools such as HTRI Xist, ASPEN Exchanger Design & Rating, PV Elite, and Autodesk Inventor/Vault. 
Select pressure vessel components and instrumentation based on project requirements. 
Interpret and create piping and instrumentation diagrams. 
Demonstrate a solid understanding of fabricated components and manufacturing techniques. 
 
Requirements: Essential 
 
Proven experience in Heat Exchanger design, emphasizing shell & tube exchangers. 
Strong understanding of relevant fundamental principles in thermodynamics and mass/heat balance equations. 
Familiarity with TEMA, API, and ASME design codes and standards. 
Previous experience in a mechanical design position or team. Desirable 
Proficiency in Pressure Vessel Design using relevant codes/standards (ASME VIII, EN 13445). 
Familiarity with software tools: HTRI Xist, ASPEN Exchanger Design & Rating, PV Elite, Autodesk Inventor/Vault. 
Ability to select pressure vessel components and interpret/create piping and instrumentation diagrams. 
Knowledge of fabricated components and manufacturing techniques.
