Our client, who are based in Eastwood, are searching for an applications Engineer to join their team 
 
They are seeking a motivated and skilled Engineer to join their team and play a key role in providing sales and quotation support for their industrial damper solutions. 
 
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the sales team, engineers, and clients to deliver accurate and timely quotations, technical support, and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction. 
 
As the new Applications Engineer you will: 
 
Technical Sales Support: 
 
Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and provide technical expertise during the sales process. 
Interpreting customer specifications and recommend suitable damper solutions. 
Generate technical proposals and support the development of sales presentations. 
 
Quotation Preparation: 
 
Prepare detailed and accurate quotations based on customer specifications, project requirements, and cost estimations. 
Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to gather necessary information for quotations. 
Ensure timely delivery of quotations and follow up with clients to address queries. 
 
Customer Communication: 
 
Working with our regional sales managers act as the point of contact for technical enquiries, clarifications and support during the pre-sales phase. 
Engage with customers to understand their unique needs and provide tailored solutions. 
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to enhance customer satisfaction. 
Collaboration and Coordination: 
Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and project management, to ensure alignment on customer requirements. 
Coordinate with other departments to gather relevant information for accurate quotations. 
 
 
 
The ideal candidate will have: 
 
Education and Qualifications: 
 
ONC / Level 3 Qualification (minimum) or Bachelor's degree (desirable) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. 
 
Experience: 
 
Proven experience in a similar role within the industrial manufacturing or engineering sector. 
Demonstrable experience in providing sales and quotation support for technical products, preferably in the field of industrial dampers or other such fabricated products which are designed and manufactured to order. 
Familiarity with the damper or valve industry, its products, and applications is desirable. 
 
Technical Skills: 
 
Able to interpret technical drawings and create visual representations. 
Strong technical aptitude and the ability to comprehend complex engineering specifications. 
High levels of competency using Microsoft Office software, particularly Microsoft Excel. 
Knowledge of industrial damper or valve systems, their applications, and relevant industry standards is desirable. 
 
Communication Skills: 
 
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
Ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
Strong interpersonal skills for building and maintaining customer relationships. 
 
Collaboration and Teamwork: 
 
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, manufacturing, and project management. 
Demonstrable teamwork and willingness to assist colleagues to achieve common goals. 
 
Customer Focus: 
 
Customer-centric approach with a keen understanding of customer needs and the ability to provide tailored solutions 
Experience in dealing directly with customers and addressing their inquiries and concerns.

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
 
Problem-Solving Abilities: 
 
Analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret customer requirements and recommend suitable damper solutions.

What you can expect in return: 
 
Salary: Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (Dependant on experience), benefits package and profit related bonus.
